Lingnan U - 28 July 2025 - Final Round application deadline
edUHK - Main round has closed, but still accepting on a rolling basis subject to the availability of places
Nanyang Technological University Singapore - Application deadline is 19 March!
Tilburg University - Deadline is 01 April 2025
Many UK universities, including Newcastle University and the University of Liverpool, are still accepting applications from international students - Check UCAS website for details

*Year 13s are reminded to meet with their FE counsellor to discuss any issues, questions or concerns about their applications.*

IB Final Results Request Form

In order to have your final IB results sent to universities, ALL students MUST complete the IB Final Results to Universities form and email as a PDF to applications@rchk.edu.hk by Friday 17 April, 2025.

Make sure that you read the 'Final Notes' at the bottom of the document. If something changes and you need to update the form, you can do so up until the end of May.

Please update your Unifrog account!

We require all Year 13 students to update your Unifrog account with ALL application results (offers/deferrals/waitlists and rejections) - please include the offer conditions.

This is important because:

A) On 6 July your FE counselor can see if you missed your offer or not and then better support you

B) it helps us inform the younger year levels on current application information - You have benefitted from this info so you should pass it on

**We will send out an email reminder on the morning of FE Core class that will confirm locations, as these are subject to change.**

Year 12 Meeting #2 with your Counsellor

It is now time to book FE Meeting 2, which will take place during the month of March. Please book a time by Friday 7 March!

You need to prepare the following before the meeting:
- CV - completed so we can provide feedback
- Spreadsheet - 3 universities fully researched (blue and purple sections)
- UK/HK personal statement - first draft
Use the ‘Youcanbookme’ link - it's at the bottom of this newsletter! - to choose a time that works for you - no skipping classes for this!

UCAS Guide to help support parents & Guardians

This new tool from UCAS covers everything from personal statements to student finance, apprenticeships, accommodation, and results day advice so you can feel well-informed, whatever your child decides are their next steps after school.

February FE Highlights!

HKUST - Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies

HKUST’s pioneering Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies (AIS) plays an integral part of the University’s well-established tradition for innovative teaching, learning and research. AIS brings together two or more different academic disciplines and offers a brand-new type of educational experience, characterized by select multicultural cohorts, high-powered curricula across different schools, and wide-ranging personal and professional enrichment activities.

In February, Arnav Kithania, HKUST T&M-DDP Year 4 student and RCHK '22, came to visit and shared with students his experience studying in this innovative programme.

Middlesex University Visit

Also in February, Betty from Middlesex University came to visit RCHK and introduced the Middlesex ESF scholarship. With her was Dr Kim Jongwon, who shared his journey to becoming a sports performance analyst.

SUMMER PROGRAMMES

Bentley University Summer Programme

Experience a taste of college academics by experiencing residential life and exploring the university community. Immerse yourself in a rigorous yet supportive learning environment and gain valuable insights into their academic interests and career aspirations. You will develop meaningful friendships and form connections with like-minded peers from diverse backgrounds. Students must be 16 years old by September 1 of the program year to live in residence, but younger students can register as commuter students or take online sessions.

Rice University Precollege Program

Rice programs are designed for students who wish to dive deeper into subjects that piques their interest, such as genome engineering, physiology, aerospace, law, and more. Each course features dynamic video lessons by renowned Rice faculty and access to mentors. Courses are available year-round, and the online format enables students to study anywhere, anytime, at your own pace. This flexibility allows students to take multiple courses and explore a variety of subjects. Upon successfully completing a course's capstone project, participants will earn a Certificate of Completion from Rice University.

Bocconi

Bocconi Summer School for High School Students will be held from 7 to 18 July 2025.
Students can choose two subjects from a selection of 16 different labs.
By following one lab each week, students will have the chance to pursue different areas of interest and discover the Bocconi teaching style.
