Dear RCHK parents and students,
Firstly, we would like to send our sincere congratulations to RCHK's Class of 2025. Well done on all of your achievements! We eagerly await your final results. If you need help or advice once results are released on 06 July, please get in touch with your FE counsellor.
Summer feels like it's already here, and we hope that everyone gets to enjoy a well-deserved, safe and restful summer break. Take care of yourselves! We look forward to seeing all of you in August!
Warm regards from your RCHK FE Team!
After the IB final results come out on 6 July, we need all graduates to do one final update of your Unifrog account.
After you add your final destination, then you are officially done with Unifrog! Thank you very much for helping us gather this important data.
The FE team sets internal deadlines to help Year 13 students stay on track with their university applications.
Parents and students can view these deadlines on the Inspire sidebar, under Year 13 > Y13 Deadlines

Great question! Now that we've finished our FE 3WCs, all Year 12 students should have a FE 'to-do' list that will keep them busy during the summer break. This list should include:
Drafting essay(s) for various applications they'll be making in the Fall
Doing more research in order to refine their list of schools
If you are traveling, plan to add a campus visit if it works for your schedule
Some students have registered for summer courses or arranged internships, so make the most out of these opportunities be being engaged and taking lots of notes!
Complete AND share your FE questionnaire with your reference writer (if you haven't already done this!)
At the end of May, the FE team held their first 'Cup of College' coffee morning. This was an opportunity for parents to ask questions in a more informal setting about all things related to the university admissions process and how our department works.
The turnout was fantastic, with around 20 parents joining us. It took a little while for the group to warm up (despite the heat and humidity!) but once everyone relaxed the questions started flowing. Next time we'll be sure to take a group photo!
Whether your child is just beginning to consider their next steps or is already deep into planning, we’re here to help. Keep an eye out for more events like this one next year.

This week, as part of Year 11 Project Days, the FE team organised our second RCHK Careers Day. In the morning we welcomed 14 alumni who first joined Dr. Brown and some staff members for coffee before heading down to the 1/F Hubs where they presented their stories about life at RCHK and their journey to where they are today. Between them, they really cover the gamut of industries - from airline pilot to product designer, from teacher to lawyer, from engineer to physiotherapist.
This year we also invited HKU's director of the Bachelor of Journalism programme, Mr. AJ Libunao, and his team (including Wisley from RC's Class of '23) to join us. They delivered a talk which focused on the relevance of journalism, how it connects to potential career paths, and how it ties into applying to the University of Hong Kong.
Year 11 student, Rumi, told us, "Thank you for organising such an amazing event; it really helped me gain more insight into what I want to do with my life, whether this be in choosing universities or making my IB subject choices."
We are so grateful to our fabulous RC alumni for making time in their schedules to prepare slides and engage with the students in such an authentic way. The Year 11 students gained invaluable knowledge, hearing firsthand how these graduates carved their paths to success.

If you're planning to visit universities this summer and attend a tour or information session, the person taking you around will likely be a current student. Use this opportunity to ask questions you cannot find on the websites to make the most of your visit.
Here are some example questions to ask:
What opportunities are there for study abroad and exchange programs?
If available, are these global programs directly run by this school – where faculty members travel with students – or are these study abroad programs outsourced to a third-party company?
Are these study abroad experiences built into the tuition or are there additional fees to participate?
What surprised you about this school? What's something you didn't expect?
What event on campus gets the biggest turnout every year?
If you were struggling with an issue, would you know who to turn to? Who would that be?
