06 October 2023 (9:00am) - Early PGs available to view
09 October 2023 (4:00pm) - Internal deadline for early UK apps
20 October 2023 (4:00pm) - Internal deadline for USA ED/EA/Priority Filing
On Tuesday 19th September, RCHK opened its doors to around 130 universities.
90 universities from the UK, US and Canada were in the PAC, and the SPC housed universities from Australia, Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan.
Our last university fair was in 2019 and all students and staff alike were excited for the return of this annual event.
Three lucky students won our limited edition FE bags! Well done to Hugo Francois, Jaclyn Yim and Darren Chung!
We have been trialling a new time slot for these visits - 8:15am! So far, students have been very receptive to this earlier start to their day and the number of students in attendance has been higher than normal, so we plan to continue.
In addition to the RCHK University Fair, the FE office hosted several very interesting schools, including a group of 7 US colleges, and universities from Spain, Canada (University of Toronto) and the UK (London School of Economics).
RCHK alumni Hilary Yu, Ines Lau Vasquez and Richard Cheung (who are currently attending Oxford, Cambridge and Stanford respectively) came to school to share their experiences and answer questions.
Here's what Athan Wong from M10 had to say about the event...
"It was an excellent opportunity to listen to our RCHK Alumni discuss valuable topics that simply are not talked about enough – this includes the differences between high school and university, region-specific priorities for university applications, as well as finding the balance between extracurriculars and academics. These talks have inspired me to keep reaching for my goals - if they can do it, I can too!"
Thank you to the Y13 students who joined us for our practice MMI session.
We would also like to express our appreciation to the teachers who joined us on Friday, 15 September to help conduct these interviews.
MMIs (Multiple Mini Interviews) are designed to test oral communication, social and non-verbal skills as well as teamwork. These are all important indicators of how an applicant will interact with patients and colleagues as a professional in the medical field.
We hope that the students found this useful in helping them prepare for the upcoming medicine, dentistry and vet med interviews.
