Year 13 Practice MMI Session
Last Friday, the FE team hosted a Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) practice session for Year 13 students applying to Medicine, Veterinary Science, and Dentistry. MMIs require candidates to move through a series of short, timed stations testing practical skills and ethical scenarios. 15 students participated in the event, gaining crucial preparation with the support of dedicated staff who ran the stations.
Student reflections
I really appreciated the MMI session. I got a great grasp of the actual question types of MMIs for my future uni applications. It served as useful practice for my speaking and confidence in tense environments, while I learnt how to structure a model response after receiving teacher feedback. The teacher feedback afterwards was also helpful in the form of ratings and key takeaways by teachers. From this I realised my key weaknesses that occurred in every station that I could target later. Overall it was a really useful experience for my future uni applications. - Ryan So, Y13
The MMI session was immensely helpful for us to get a sense for the timing, question types and exemplar responses to the prompts. I found that during the session I improved a lot in knowing how to better deconstruct the question and structure my response. The feedback and guidance from teachers was also helpful to identify weak points in terms of content, demeanor, and delivery that I might have overlooked otherwise (because I can't see myself from the interviewer's perspective). - Violetta Chan, Y13

RCHK University Fair 2026!
RCHK University Fair 2026!
On 8 September we welcomed more than 130 universities from all over the globe! This event is one that we look forward to every year, as it provides us with fantastic opportunities to do some focussed research directly with the university reps.
It was great to see the Year 10-13 students (and many parents as well!) so engaged in the process.
We also received a lot of positive feedback from the reps themselves, so we hope that the Fair continues to grow and inspire students in their search for the best post-secondary pathways.

The university fair was helpful and informative for universities I had not heard about before, and especially helpful in giving me information on prices and entry requirements. Online, it is harder to access this information but talking person to person is very helpful as more shared details that are hidden on the internet are revealed. - Bertie Nicholson Y12
This iteration of the RCHK University Fair was undoubtedly my favourite. As a Year 12 student with a clearer image of my future path than before, I was more than ecstatic when I saw the World Bachelor's in Business booth set up in the PAC. It was initially only labelled as USC on the list, but the WBB representative came to introduce the course and university instead. I have been setting my sights on this course ever since I found out about it two years ago, and being able to have the opportunity for a conversation with the Assistant Director of this programme's admissions was extremely helpful. I was able to not only learn more about the programme, but be more aware of what I can currently do to help the application process. - Audrey Wong Y12
The university fair was so useful for me this year, especially as being a year 12 and going through so many FE questions in class, I was starting to question my top choices for university placements. The wide range of universities invited answered so many of my questions, and I got a better understanding of not only the personal statement and grade requirements, but also what it is like to live in the area and being a student within the university. One university that stood out to me was Cambridge, being such a highly excelled russell group university, it shocked me that they would be here. I learnt that universities look for your personal interest in the study of the subject itself, rather than interest in having a job of the study. It was a great experience for me to ask questions and really helped me narrow down on what programmes and universities would be accommodating for me. - Whaley Sew Y12

**Please note that will miss pd 4 on PSAT test day, and scores will be released approximately 3 weeks after the test.**
Sign-ups for the PSAT test are closing on Friday, 18 September. Students can still sign up HERE.
Year 10-12 students will sit at school on 28 October 2026.
The fee to sit the PSAT is $200 HKD. This is deducted via RCHK's ePayment system.
Please note that the PSAT is digital. Students must use their own laptops to take the test. The test takes around 2.5 hours to complete.

CUHK's BSc in Public Health
CUHK's BSc in Public Health
Launched in 2009, the BSc in Public Health became the first bachelor programme in Hong Kong dedicated to training public health professionals with the required competencies. It was developed in response to the increasing demand for the workforce needed to cope with the territory’s aim of improving citizens’ health. The SARS epidemic in 2003 and the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019 significantly raised public’s awareness of environmental hygiene and infectious diseases.
However, these are only part of a much more extensive scope of public health that deals with ALL aspects of human health. The world is looking for young candidates who are willing to tackle challenges and have an interdisciplinary perspective to join this arena. Our programme is in the best position with the most relevant resources to train this new generation.

2nd HKUST AI Film Hackathon for Secondary Students
2nd HKUST AI Film Hackathon for Secondary Students
Building on the success of the inaugural event, this programme introduces students to the exciting world of AI-generated content (AIGC), filmmaking, and visual storytelling. Participants will attend five hands-on workshops at HKUST on 24 October, 31 October, 7 November, 14 November, and 21 November 2026 (Saturdays, 10am-1pm), where they will learn to use cutting-edge AI creative tools and explore innovative approaches to storytelling and film production. Outstanding teams will be invited to advance to the Final AI Film Hackathon, to be held on 27-28 February 2027.
The program is designated for Hong Kong secondary school students from Y7 to Y12. Students should register in teams of 2 to 4 members from the same school. Participants are required to bring their own laptop. No coding experience is required. Participants are expected to attend all workshops unless there are special circumstances.
Participants will receive an official HKUST certificate, gain valuable project experience that can enhance their academic portfolios, and have the opportunity for outstanding works to be showcased at the HKUST AI Film Festival (AIFF).
